Botox is a protein which has been used in medicine for decades. It works by preventing muscle contraction. How botox works?
Botox is applied by injecting into a muscle which targets wrinkles on the face with thin needle. Right after the injection it blocks the nerves of same muscle which causes reduction or complete disappearance of wrinkles and makes skin smooth. Procedure lasts only 5-10 minutes and it is completely painless. Anesthetic cream is not even necessary.
The results become visible after 2-7 days and the effect should last for about 3-6 months. Side effects such as redness, mild swelling and pain are extremely rare and perishable.
